If your quarantine has been anything like mine and my family’s, we haven’t been leaving the house much. Until recently, when we went on a camping trip to Mono Hot Springs, it was just what we needed. Not only was the camping itself great, but we really got to escape from reality and spend quality time with Mother Nature. The best part was taking a break from my phone for a whole five days. We caught and ate lots of trout from the San Joaquin river. We hiked to nearby lakes. And of course, we indulged in the amazing hot springs scattered throughout the meadows and forests. It was so cool to be sitting in a little hot spring the temperature of a jacuzzi while a freezing river is rushing right in front of us. We ate s’mores galore and sat under a sky full of stars. Kinda wishing I was back there right now lying in a hammock, rather than sitting at my desk typing on my computer. During my free moments I dove into some of my Quarantine Reads which have included Unforgettable by Merly Sawyer, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. If you have just a little time on your hands, I highly recommend The Four Agreements. It’s quite short, but will leave you wanting to make those small adjustments in your life to become your best self. Time with my family, myself, books, and Mother Nature has been a treat, but I can’t wait to be spending time with my sisters again. Miss you all!
Love, Ashley Tran
